THE BEDLAM SERIES
I am currently working on a series of historical fiction novels titled The Bedlam Series. The first novel, The Case of Lord Simon, delves into themes of mental illness, addiction and the challenges facing LGBTQ individuals during England's sixteenth century.
THE CASE OF LORD SIMON
The Case of Lord Simon is the first installment of The Bedlam Series. One too many drinks and Simon Stanley, son of the Duke of Hampshire, has come undone. His unquenchable thirst for whiskey has led him to the brink of madness at the steps of Bedlam Insane Asylum. When he learns from his best friend and steward, Tobias Good, that his father will do nothing to secure his release from the asylum, Simon is forced to face the demons of his past and future through the unspeakable reality of involuntary abstinence. His transformation lies in the hands of fellow Bedlamites and Winnie, a fiery mane beauty with emerald eyes who comes to visit her brother, Astrolabe, at the asylum every day.
SHIP OF FOOLS
Second installment of The Bedlam Series. Tobias Good, son of a Spanish Moor servant to Catherine of Aragon and an unknown father, is forced to endure a chain of events that includes witnessing the beginnings of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Tobias is forced to deal with a duplicitous betrayal that was cast years earlier by the two people he loved and trusted most.
